Since 1 April 2012, under the Act on Sign Language and Other Means of Communication, deaf individuals are guaranteed the right to access specialist services such as sign language interpreters. By law, public institutions, healthcare facilities, and other government bodies are mandated to provide access to sign language interpreting. This ensures equal access to services and information. This regulation is an important step towards the fuller integration of deaf people in society.
